Lines from the novel, New Moon, by Stephenie Meyer.

Could be have destroyed his own happiness any more thoroughly?

Whatever you were doing before I came and complicated your existence.

Even the sense of smell is a useful diagnostic tool at times.

You try very hard to make up for something that was never your fault.

You didn’t choose this kind if life and yet you have to work so hard to be good.

Like everything in life, I just had to decide to what to do with what I was given.

Even in the beginning, when death unquestionably would have been a relief, I didn’t consider it.

Sometimes, loyalty gets in the way you want to do. Sometimes, it’s not your secret to tell.

There’s no point in avoiding the truth. That’s the way things are, Bells.

Times means something very different to them than it does to you, or even me.
